Welcome to The Merchants Inn
The Pub of Rugby
Welcome to Merchants Inn, where you'll find great beer and food but also see we're a little mad about our Real Ale and Rugby.
Nestled on Little Church Street in the heart of Rugby, there's no better place to drink great real ales and watch top live rugby.
We stock 4 house beers and have a selection of 4
-6 guest ales rotating regularly. During a regular week don't be surprised to see as many as 25 different ales on tap.
For Real Ale lovers we also house one of the largest independent collections of brewery memorabilia in the country.
We also have a massive range (80+) of Belgian beers and craft beers.
The Home of The Game
With the Rugby World Cup happening here in the UK in the Autumn, you'll want to visit a pub that is the heart of Rugby, and that's The Merchants Inn. In fact you can actually see where the game was invented right from our front door. We have very good links with Rugby School, Leicester Tigers, Northampton Saints and The Matt Hampson Foundation.
The Merchants has a reputation for being the best place to watch live rugby. We have giant screens and an atmosphere that is second only to being there. RWC 2015, we will be showing all the home nations warm up games starting on the 8th August as well as RWC tournament! Tables bookings with a barell of ale are now being taken, prices range from £110 to £135, 8 people per table maximum, full payment with booking, warm up and group games only at the moment.
We serve lunch from 12-3 Monday to Friday but our Sunday Lunch is legendary, and is very busy between 12-5 every week so book in advance. Our food moto is 'Local, Seasonal, Fresh' as everything is sourced as close as humanly possible and our chefs don't bring anything in pre-pared - everything is made fresh.
Events & Beer and Food Festivals
We're always busy with something happening on a regular basis including live music EVERY TUESDAY. We host 2 beer festivals per year selling over 100 ales at each, 1 cider festival per year selling over 100 ciders, a Belgian Festival and our German Festival is on the 14th October this year, tickets are available now from behind the bar at £12 each. This includes German food and the best oompah band this side of the Rhine! Our Autumn beer festival is starting on the 9th November and running through to the 15th November. Over 100 ales and traditional ciders available, as well as live music, great pub grub and the Rugby conker championships. Free entrance.
Food. We serve lunch from 12-3 Mon to Fri but our real focus is our Sunday Lunch which is very busy for between 12-5 every week. Our food moto is 'Local, Seasonal, Fresh' as everything is sourced as close as humanly possible and our chefs don't bring anything in pre-pared - everything is made fresh.
