Christmas 2016

Welcome to The Merchants Inn

The Pub of Rugby and winner of The Coventry and Warwickshire Tourism Award for Best Pub 2015

Welcome to Merchants Inn, where you'll find great beer and food but also see we're a little mad about our Real Ale and Rugby.

Nestled on Little Church Street in the heart of Rugby, there's no better place to drink great real ales and watch top live rugby.

Real Ales

We stock 4 house beers and have a selection of -6 guest ales rotating regularly and we were recently awarded The 'Puritan' Pub of the Year 2015 by The Purity Brewing Co.
During a regular week don't be surprised to see as many as 25 different ales on tap.

For Real Ale lovers we also house one of the largest independent collections of brewery memorabilia in the country!

We also have a massive range (80+) of Belgian beers and craft beers.

The Home of The Game

When visiting the home of Rugby you'll want to visit a pub that is the heart of the game, and that's The Merchants Inn. In fact you can actually see where the game was invented right from our front door. We have very good links with Rugby School, Leicester Tigers, Northampton Saints and The Matt Hampson Foundation.

The Merchants has a reputation for being the best place to watch live rugby. We have giant screens and an atmosphere that is second only to being there. We will be showng Aviva premiership and European cup games

Food

We serve lunch from 12-3 Monday to Friday but our Sunday Lunch is legendary, and is very busy between 12-5 every week so book in advance. Our motto is 'Local, Seasonal, Fresh' as everything is sourced as close as humanly possible and our chefs don't bring anything in pre-pared - everything is made fresh.

Events & Beer and Food Festivals (check out the events diary page)

We're always busy with something happening on a regular basis including live music EVERY TUESDAY. We host 2 beer festivals per year selling over 100 ales at each, 1 cider festival per year selling over 100 ciders and the dates for this are 4th July to the 11th July 2016, and a German Festival on Wednesday 5th October. Did you know that we can now take card payements over the phone, JUST CALL 01788 571119

Any news on Hernandez following the collision with Mahoje? Always sad to see a player get stretchered off, particularly one of his calibre

@mickskehan a few class individual performances still from the old heads in the back- Genia, Folau etc. Could just be a bad run.

@mickskehan judging by the Bledisloe you're a lot further away than 90% Agree about the tight 5 but it seems to be shaken up a lot!

@mickskehan my point exactly. 2 incredibly talented players that, no matter how well they play, are being let down by those around them.
